WEEK OF BROTH
We were lucky enough to have Eve Kalinik, nutritional therapist and gut health specialist try our broths for a week and develop some exclusive recipes for us . Here's how she found the experience...
Please tell us a bit about yourself
I’m author of BE GOOD TO YOUR GUT (with second book due next April!) and a functional nutritional therapy practitioner that specializes in gut health. I also write a monthly page called Happy Gut for Psychologies magazine as well as being a tutor for Guardian Masterclasses. Alongside this I work on a consultancy basis for like-minded brands to include copy and content writing, recipe development and social media projects.
What are you currently working on?
Mostly my second book – HAPPY GUT, HAPPY MIND as we are into the final stages of editing. It is due out April 2020.
Are you familiar with bone broth?
Yes very much so! And I love Borough the best
Do you ever make your own stocks/broths? If so how do you find it?
No I don’t make myself…I leave that up to the experts like you guys :)
How did you find cooking with our broths?
Brilliant – I love them and recommend to almost all of my clients
Do you ever use a cheeky stock cube?
Would you consider using this regularly?
Did using broth make a difference to the taste and/or texture of your food?
Yes absolutely brings a depth of flavour and umami to pretty much any dish
Did you feel better for consuming it? Sleep better? Improvement in skin? Digestion? Please elaborate if so...
I use it so regularly that not particularly in this week although potentially maybe my skin looked more radiant since I was using it EVERY day for a week. People certainly commented so that’s always a good sign!
Which was your favourite flavour and why?
Hard to choose. Probably I find that the chicken is the most versatile although I really liked the fish one which was a bit surprising as I was a bit skeptical about that flavour.
